Head Coach: Eric Beagles Eric Beagles enters his 10th season as the Head Coach of Heritage Baseball. His coaching career began at Gordon Lee High School, followed by two years at Ringgold Middle School before moving to Ringgold High School to serve as an assistant for four years under the legendary Coach Bill Womack. Academically and athletically, Coach Beagles prepped at Lakeview Fort Oglethorpe High School before beginning his collegiate career at Cleveland State Community College where he served as one of the team's captains. Following a successful junior college career, he completed his collegiate play at The Master's College in Newhall, California. Coach Beagles earned his B.S. degree in Social Sciences from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 1990 and proceeded to complete his Master's degree in Social Sciences at Jacksonville State University in 1995. In 1996, Coach Beagles earned his Educational Specialist degree in Administration and Supervision from Middle Tennessee State University. Coach Beagles and his wife, Maria, have two daughters, Allie and Grace.
Assistant Coach: Thomas Gray
Coach Gray comes to Heritage High School after completing a successful college career. Coach Gray played his freshman year at Chattanooga State Community College where he had a pitching record of 14-2 and collected All-American honors and was the Freshman of the Year and Player of the Year for the TJCCAA. Coach Gray spent his sophomore year at Tennessee Tech where he beat the University of Tennessee. In 2009, Coach Gray transferred to Armstrong Atlantic, a NCAA Division II institution located in Savannah, Ga. He received second team all-conference, second team all-region his junior year and academic all-conference his junior and senior year. After completing his eligibility in 2010, Gray stayed on as a student assistant for one year at Armstrong after his playing career. Just recently Coach Gray was inducted in to the Chattanooga State Hall of Fame for his accomplishments as a pitcher where he still holds the all-time win record for a pitcher. Coach Gray graduated from Ringgold High School where he played under Coach Eric Beagles. He earned his B.S. degree in Middle Grades Education from Armstrong Atlantic State University. He currently teaches Math at Heritage and serves as the Assistant Athletic Director. Coach Gray is married to his wife, Lisa Gray, who is the Assistant Athletic Director and Head Softball Coach at Lakeview Fort Oglethorpe High School.
Assistant Coach: Jake Ledbetter Coach Jake Ledbetter enters his second season as a baseball coach at Heritage. He has been teaching Health at Heritage High School the past three years, after a year teaching and coaching multiple sports at Lakeview Middle School. Academically, his college career started at Cumberland University where he studied exercise science and played football for two years. He finished his education at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and graduated in 2013. A 2008 graduate of Red Bank High school, Coach Ledbetter played primarily as an outfielder and pitcher for the Lions’ baseball team. He was a four year starter and part of four playoff teams as well as a Region Championship team his senior season. He is passionate about the game and excited to be part of the team. He also coaches football and is involved with the Fellowship of Christian athletes here at Heritage. Coach Ledbetter and his wife, Vikki, met at UTC and married in 2014.
